Summer Road Trip: Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway

It's almost back to school season, with or without children, August brings a busy time for all of us. In Florida we are surrounded by beautiful scenes. The Atlantic Ocean, Gulf Coast, Florida Keys, Everglades, country side - we have it all. So, as summer comes to an end, why not plan your weekend getaway around a Floridian Road Trip? Where?

How about the Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway. Canopied highways 19 and 40 cut right through the Ocala National Forest, offering up not only serene views but park gems all along the way. Stop for a dip in the freshwater swimming hole at Alexander Springs, a hike through the tranquil Juniper Prairie Wilderness or a canoe ride on the pristine St. Johns River.
