Jaguar XF and XFR win 2010 ALL STAR AWARD!

MAHWAH, N.J., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Jaguar is proud to announce that the XF sports sedan is an AUTOMOBILE Magazine 2010 All-Star award. Again. The 2010 Jaguar XF line, powered by new engines and the limited-production 510-hp XFR variant, repeats its AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star win from last year, against a very competitive field including all-new luxury sedans.

"The Jaguar XF/XFR has scored another great honor, this time being named an All-Star by the experts at AUTOMOBILE Magazine," said Richard Beattie, Jaguar North America Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales. "It is a great achievement to be recognized as a superior automobile by automotive connoisseurs who travel the world testing the latest and greatest cars. The Jaguar renaissance will continue full speed ahead next year with the 2011 Jaguar XJ joining the XF and XK in our showrooms."

Backing up last year's All-Stars win, where the XF sedan actually took the outright top total votes of any car invited to compete among the experts at AUTOMOBILE Magazine, this year marks an even greater achievement. "Any car that wins two years in a row is a significant winner," says AUTOMOBILE Magazine Executive Editor Joe DeMatio. "The competition is very stiff. To win two years in a row is an even bigger accomplishment against all-new cars like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and prior winners like the BMW 5-series."

Where last year, the XF acquitted itself as "...a beautiful, composed, powerful, lush car..." this year, the XF - and especially the new supercharged 510-hp XFR ultra-sports model - drew the following test notes: "Provides a lot of performance without asking a lot of its driver on a daily basis, unlike some high-performance sedans which can be off-putting." In addition, testers noted "it transforms itself from a very comfortable luxury sedan to a racetrack-ready, forgiving, rewarding car."

Of particular note in the All-Stars testing highlights: "extraordinarily well-tuned chassis," "brakes that inspired confidence," "brilliant to drive," "a fabulous car to be in," "gentle in transition to power oversteer," "steering that's fast, accurate and communicative."

Available in normally-aspirated form as the 385-hp XF, XF Premium and XF Premium Portfolio, in supercharged guise as the XF Supercharged with 470 hp and in top performance clothes as the XFR with 510 hp, the XF range continues to win awards, accolades and admirers.
