Island Lincoln, your friendly neighborhood Florida Lincoln dealership, recently held its 2012 Drive Smart For Your School event on May 5, 2012, benefiting the Merritt Island Christian School, located at 140 Magnolia Avenue, Merritt Island, FL 32952.
The event is a Ford Motor Company sponsored program designed to help local Lincoln dealers foster relationships with local high schools within their communities to help raise much needed funds for the school.
The one-day event hosted parents and students who were at least 18 years of age, where they were encouraged to come out to the school to test drive a new Lincoln vehicle, like the Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKX. Event participants simply completed a brief survey following the test drive, of which the dealer then recorded that information and submitted them to Ford. Each eligible test drive earned the school $20 and with an allowable maximum of 300 drivers per event, a total of $6,000 could be raised. This year, the event surpassed its goal of 300 test drives and topped off at 347; resulting in the maximum fund total of $6,000 to be awarded to the school.
