Lincoln Set to Enter China Luxury Auto Market

Island Lincoln, a leading new Lincoln car dealership in Merritt Island, FL, is excited to share that Lincoln is about to set its foot on China for the first time where Lincoln cars will be available for sale there in the latter half of 2014. Along with its entry into China, Lincoln will offer its rich and unique heritage to Chinese customers. With Ford’s invasion in China, this will be the automaker’s largest expansion in 50 years. Ford anticipates an aggressive marketing strategy to expand their horizon in this part of the world.

For affluent Chinese customers, Lincoln is planning to offer tailor-made services according to specific customer needs. “Lincoln is an important part of our plan, and introducing Lincoln in China marks the next step in our expansion in Asia and our commitment to serving customers in the luxury market,” said Ford Motor Company President and CEO Alan Mulally. “We recognize the growth potential for Lincoln in China, building on the growing appeal of our new Lincoln products and unique, personalized customer experience in North America.”

As per a recent study conducted by IHS, it was forecasted that the luxury segment in China will surpass that of the United States by the year 2020. The study estimates that luxury vehicles will see a leap in growth from 6% of today’s market to nearly 9% by the decade’s end. It has further been forecasted that annual sales of luxury cars will be reach about 2.7 million units by then.

TNS China conducted an intensive study which revealed that presently Chinese consumers view luxury as more than just a product. The study further revealed a significant percentage of affluent Chinese customers continue to be motivated by a basic desire to display their wealth. The evolved group of Chinese luxury consumers is particularly drawn by Lincoln's outstanding products as well as the experience of personalized luxury purchase and ownership.

“Lincoln’s introduction to China represents a significant step forward in Ford’s aggressive growth strategy for the country”, said Dave Schoch, Chairman and CEO, Ford Motor China. “We are on track to deliver 15 new Ford-branded vehicles and 20 powertrains by 2015 to Chinese customers. With Lincoln, we will be expanding our product offering to cover China’s fast-growing luxury car segment.”
